Funding Helping More Women To Grow Their Businesses
Cambridge, ON- MP Bryan May held a funding announcement for women’s entrepreneurship funding yesterday. The announcement was made at Cambridge Heat Treating Inc. with CFO Cheryl Mortimer, recipient of the Women Entrepreneurship Fund (WEF).
Cambridge Heat Treatment Inc. was selected to receive a contribution of up to $100,000 through the WEF program.
“This investment is great news for our community. It will provide women with more opportunities and resources to grow their businesses. I am looking forward to seeing what Cambridge Heat Treating Inc. accomplishes with this investment,” said Bryan May, Member of Parliament for Cambridge.
The Government of Canada is committed to addressing the barriers women face in starting or growing a business, that is why the Government is seeking to ensure the full and equal participation of women in the economy through the Women Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES), announced last year in Budget 2018.
This funding is part of the government’s Women Entrepreneurship Strategy, a $2-billion investment that seeks to double the number of women-owned businesses in Canada by 2025. The Women Entrepreneurship Fund directly invests in women-owned or women-led businesses to supports them in growing their businesses and expanding into new markets.
